At Branxton Medical Centre, we offer a number of general health services for children and adults, including women’s care, men’s health services and more.
Children’s Health and Immunisations
We provide all childhood immunisations at our centre according to the Standard Immunisation Schedule
as laid out by the Department of Health. We can also perform the standard 4-year-old immunisations and Healthy Kids Check, which includes vaccinations, a thorough check-up, and screening for vision, hearing and dental health. We also provide catch-up immunisations (for free) and travel vaccinations for children.
Women’s Health
We provide full female health services, including the pap smear and breast check (which requires a longer appointment). We can also offer advice on contraceptive use, menopause and pre-pregnancy counselling.
Shared Obstetric Care
We offer antenatal health care to ensure both mother and baby are healthy and that the pregnancy is progressing well. We offer shared obstetric care with the antenatal clinic at TMH and JHH.
Men’s Health
Branxton Medical Centre is your ‘one-stop’ for comprehensive health assessments for men. Our assessments are tailored to your needs and can give you a picture of what your health will look like 10, 20 or even 30 years in the future. We also offer ‘men’s midlife medical’ assessments designed to help you control your health before a midlife medical crisis.
Health Check for Men & Women
The federal government has recently rolled out a
no-cost
health check for men and women aged 45-49. This check is designed to create a whole picture of the patient’s health with the goal of monitoring risk factors and hopefully avoiding chronic disease. It includes updating your medical history; checking weight, blood pressure and urine; blood tests for glucose and cholesterol; and follow-ups and lifestyle changes to prevent disease. Our records will show if you are eligible for this check, but please do not hesitate to ask for more information.
75+ Annual Check-Up
Our patients who are 75 years of age or older are invited to come to our office for a comprehensive annual physical assessment. This hour-long appointment will completely review your lifestyle and physical health. There is no cost to you for this appointment, as it is directly billed to Medicare.
